Well, that's good advice, Gene! And since, in my opinion, you can do no wrong, I'll follow your lead and continue to blog about my favorite things (not like Oprah, "please welcome Gene Hackmaaaaaaaan!!")! 

My favorite things include but are not limited to the following:

30ROCK (no shit, Sherlock)

Saturday Night Live (been watching since 1975, why stop now?)

Gene Hackman (probably to the point of obnoxious gushing!)

Great Movies (so many movies, so little time...)

The Beatles (nuff said)

Alfred Hitchcock (the man was a f---ing GENIUS)

And anything else I deem worthly of writing about. Because this is an entertainment-related blog with most of the focus on 30ROCK, I will try to keep subjects interesting and informative.

So once the election is over will saturday night have trouble with ratings. Iv never watched as much as I have since the late 80s as I have in the last few months.

I hope the writers get better or give me a job....Howie the man in ct.

I really don't have the "head" to blog about this now except to say: KUDOS TO THE GANG AT SNL for this past Saturday's show featuring cameos by Sarah Palin, Alec Baldwin, Oliver Stone and Markie Mark Walberg.

The blogs are lit up with comments and no doubt Tina's "snubbing" (if you will) of Gov. Palin was more than obvious. Nonetheless, I also give props to Palin for showing up and enduring the obvious jokes at her expense during the show. But more on that stuff later.

I just want to mention one thing. I thought I heard it wrong, live on Saturday nite but in repeated viewings of the skit and seeing how other people caught it too, I think it bears notice here. 

In the part of the skit when Lorne Michaels and Sarah Palin are backstage watching Tina Fey's impersonation, the governor called Lorne Michaels: "LAUREN"! I totally lost it. And I almost missed the best line of the whole show, by Michaels, when asked by Palin why they didn't do the 30ROCK sketch she supposedly wrote. Lorne replied: "Not enough people know about the show!!"

Maybe now they will......

 I honestly can't believe the lengths SNL went to tonight to pander to the McCain/Palin ticket.  She is a joke and deserves nothing more than to be parodied, least of all air-time!  I am so disappointed in the show, the cast (who actually seemed to enjoy her presence)  and most of all you Lorne Michaels.  What has this show become? Certainly not the counter-culture rebellion it started out to be.  I guess everyone sells out eventually, huh Lorne?

I watched SNL tonight to see what Sara Palin would do and what the show would do with and "to" her. I was reminded why I haven't watched the show in years.Tina Faey is the only person on the show who has any talent. I was shocked at the terribleness of the show. "Fart face," are you kidding me. You have an entire staff of so-called professionals and you did a 4th grade sketch. Are you serious?The show "jumped the Shark" many years ago.  With the exception of a (very) scattered-rare funny moment, SNL is DEAD.  Please Mr. Michaels, retire it. You are only dragging what was once a great name into the gutter. Are you hurting for a paycheck? Are you ignorant? Are you a hard head? For a man who created and produced some of America's funniest moments, you have obviously lost your vision (and hearing). SNL is now horrible. Please, for those of us who have memories; spare us of this grating pain.  I'm sure those early Giants, (both gone and alive) look at what airs these days, and like watching a child gone bad, shake their heads and wish it would come to an end.It has taken an incredible fall for the president of the US to see that we were in deed in an economical funk.  What is it going to take to get you see that SNL has fallen worse then the crash of '29? Don't be fooled into believing that one very funny play on a political candidate is a sign that your show is a hit. It ain't. It's a pocket of air in the ballroom of a ship called the Titanic.
