Is age just a number? right off the bat, I wanna think that age IS just a number, but the reality is that it really isn't just a number. In society, the trend would be that the older you get, the more you learn and mature. Which would refer to the "older and wiser" idea. People with big age differences think differently.
As far as physically though, I've seen elderly people that are in way better shape than I am at 25(well almost 25). One would think then that age is just a number again. However to the contrary, I think that as you get older, the more you have to work to stay in shape as compared to when you're younger. Although I really don't have first hand experience with this, as I am still very young, by knowing and talking to other people who are also trying to lose, I can see that this is the case. What I do for exercise and eating healthy might not be enough for someone who is older by 13 or 20 years.
Then, although I am 25, sometimes I FEEL much older. I'll have aches and pains and feel like I "just don't have the energy" to accomplish something physical. However, I must say that since I've been exercising and eating healthy, I feel much more my age. I have more energy and normal everyday things don't seem to take as much physical effort or pushing myself. It just goes to show you though that exercise and eating healthy are very important to live a long and happy life. Just because you are young in number, doesn't mean that you are better off than someone older health-wise and just because you are older, doesn't mean you more likely to keel over than someone who is half your age.
That's my two cents if it's worth any cents to anyone... :)
