Well, that's me from now on - it seems I've graduated to the next class up. Blimey.
This week, there was a distinct lack of women in the advanced class last night due to it being half term in the local schools, and with three excess men in the advanced class, the teachers had a conflab, and 'shuftied me up', saying that I was actually ready to do the advanced class from now on. Truth be told the intermediate instructor - the lovely Andy - had mentioned to me a few weeks ago that I should really be moving up a class, but I'm not that confident and have preferred to stay in the safety of the intermediate class.
The class itself was quite small, so we got plenty of individual attention! I was VERY nervous, but the advanced instructor, kept the routine reasonably simple and nice and short so I had the opportunity to remember all of it and equip myself none too shabbily - even though I DID step on people's toes quite a bit! I ended up vey hot and sticky and got a really good workout - I really enjoyed it and hope I wasn't too sticky to dance with!
I've worked out that I did my first beginner lesson on 21st November and stayed in beginners for 3 lessons. After that, I did one intermediate lesson, then had about 4 weeks off over Christmas and New Year. So I have been doing the intermediate lessons for about 13 weeks, which isn't too bad going.
Tip for the week - is that I need to take smaller steps and get better muscle control so that I can spin and change direction without losing balance or having to take such big steps.
