Many of you may recognise me from my boyband days when i used to make up one quarter of the band Blue, who enjoyed many successful hit until we split in 2004. Since then i have been busy carving out a solo career for myself. Embarking on a solo career was quite hard to begin with and i did have some "oh my god" moments when i'd be onstage somewhere and suddenly remember that i was the only one up there - id instinctively wait for the others to come in on the next verse and then it hit me it was just me up there. it took me a long time to find my solo feet! To begin with i had toyed with the idea of being a rapper or straightforward rnb artist but then i realised i wasnt exactly the UK's answer to Usher. However, i finally feel as though i have found a sound that feels right, i call it 'urban folk' because the music reflects both my upbringing in Moss Side Manchester and my appreciation of rootsy harmonicas and banjos Manchester, or more specifically moss side, which is where i grew up and still have family based there, still plays an important role in my life and my music is informed a lot by my experiences of growing up in M16. If i hadn't left moss side, i would have fallen into the same situation as my friends, so i feel lucky to have been given a chance to do something i love and make something of my life.

'Ride The Storm' Features In New Fantastic 4 Film

    Monday, June 11th, 2007, 12:39 pm

My new single 'Ride The Storm' is set to feature in the new Twentieth Century Fox blockbuster movie “Fantastic 4: Rise Of The Silver Surfer".

“Ride The Storm”, will feature in the movie (released in the UK on June 15th), and will be released as a double A side single with a second track, “Grace” on June 18th.

I was a huge fan of the first Fantastic 4 movie and as soon as I heard they were releasing a second movie, I wrote a track specifically for it with my guitarist. I sent a demo of the song into Fox and they said yes straight away. I couldn’t believe it. I’ve always wanted to have a song on a movie soundtrack, and you don’t get much bigger than a big Hollywood blockbuster! I’m absolutely delighted!

The Fantastic 4 is Marvel’s first family of superheroes and the longest running comic book series. The first movie opened in the UK in 2005 and took over 13 million at the UK box office. The Fantastic 4 meet their greatest challenge yet in “Fantastic 4: Rise Of The Silver Surfer” as the enigmatic, intergalactic herald, The Silver Surfer, comes to Earth to prepare for its destruction. As the Silver Surfer races around the globe wreaking havoc, Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben must unravel the mystery of the Silver Surfer and confront the surprising return of their mortal enemy, Dr. Doom, before all hope is lost.
