hello!
Never written a blog before so here's a brief intro to my life. Work part-time from home and go into the office twice a week (i know, i'm really lucky). In between, i collect kids from school or childminders, drive them to ballet or swimming or tennis, make angel2's lunch, whizz round with the hoover occasionally, make kids' tea, do more work while they're in the bath, husband makes dinner (again, i'm really lucky!), have a quick ebay fix, and then veg on the sofa by 9pm. I'm sure there's more to it than that, but you've got the basics. Today, I've just returned from parents' evening. was slightly dreading getting the lowdown on Angel1 but luckily he'd done well (to his teacher's obvious amazement) in a recent test - a result apparently not reflected in his day to day work, but what the heck. if the boy is good at tests that's all he needs! meanwhile angel2 sat in the playground screaming at the other children 'don't play your game, play MY game!' i stood well away and pretended she wasn't mine. had some guarded competitive comparisons re parents evening with other mums - discovered friends' son has been in the brilliant book five times!!! - mine has never been in it. am devastated.
tomorrow i go into the office. it's like a holiday, i can't wait.
