    Blind date!

    Wednesday, May 9th, 2007, 6:04 am

The nerves are setting in today as i have agreed to go on a blind date tomorrow! a friend suggested setting me up with one of her eligble male friends a couple of weeks ago. Having had several glasses of wine at the time and surrounded by my girlie friends it seemed like a great idea so i agreed! i was particularly liking the idea that he is an equity trader (i dont really understand it but i know it means dinner is on him!)

The friend in question, Fran, has been the organiser and had already arranged a time and place for him and I to meet by last week.I agreed and all seemed fine. However now the reality of what i have agreed to is starting to hit me in. I am having all the usual pre-date feelings(what do i wear, does my hair look ok, what should i talk about...) combined with the slight terror that i may be walking around this pub not knowing who he is!

I am always deliberately 10 mins late for a date so that i am not the one who has to sit like a lemon waiting for the guy to turn up! However in this case i am wondering whether i should get there first so he can be the one walking around aimlessly??!

It has been interesting telling people I am going on a blind date and i have had mixed reactions; "but thats for ugly people" has been my favourite quote from a male friend!! However, most of my female friends think its a great idea and say i should go for it.

Although i am feeling very nervous about the whole thing i still think why not! the terms 'life is too short' and 'you only live once' do come to mind and if nothing else it will be a funny story to tell!

I appear to be absolutely hopeless at chosing the right guys for myself so i may as well let someone else do it for me.. i will keep you posted on how it goes......

G'wan Hannah!!! Fingers crossed it goes OK, sounds very exciting! I met my man on a blindish date and I decided to get there a bit early, settle down with a book/paper to avoid the aimless wandering... it sort of worked except he ended up doing the same but in a seperate room at the other end of the pub and for a bit we both thought we had been stood up!! So maybe arrange exactly where yuo will be then just settle in and wait for him to come to you??? oooh - quelle exciting, cant wait to hear what happens xxxxxx
