The nightmare job....

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007, 9:56 am

You know when your instincts tell you to avoid something - I really must learn to listen to them!

The nightmare book was finally delivered in June, and I invoiced accordingly. Funnily enough, neither I nor any of the contributors have yet been paid so the nightmare continues!

My chasing on my behalf, and for the other contributors, has resulted in a stroppy email from the company complaining that they don't need the aggravation! If they paid their invoices they wouldn't get any!!

Anyway, I am confident that the memory of this experience will linger in my psyche and am hopeful that I won't be tempted to take on work from them again.

I've discovered that I can legally charge a penalty of £70 and interest for the late payment, but don't really know how late a payment has to be before I can apply the penalty. Anyone got any ideas?
