Which horsey websites do you like for shopping? I usually go for Derby House or Robinson's and Premier Equine International is good for boots, rugs etc

I am so bored with all this rain - the going is fab but my mare is like a big heiffer at the moment!

I have just come to the conclusion that the poshness of dressness only attracts disaster with a woman and her faithful steed. How many times have I showjumped the barrier around the dressage arena or cantered towards the judge at C, instead of of halting. Last Friday my horse just would not go to the far side of the arena as something was worrying her, so we did a dressage test in 3/4 of the space and managed the biggest spook in canter so our 20 metre circle resembled a bean shape. Bless her. Any other funny dressage stories??

I have just been to a fab lecture at the Royal Veterinary College on Laminitis. My mare is quite greedy so I always keep an eye on her this time of year especially with the fresh surge of grass and all day turn out.
None other than Robert Eustace was at the talk - his whole book on Laminitis is online on The Laminitis Clinic website - TLC.
It's really worth reading it - he knows his stuff and is at the forefront of research.Or there's more info on the Laminitis Trust website.
It's not just greedy ponies that get it - thoroughbreds are at risk too, as well as new brood mares and sport horses.

Are there any people there that just LOVE talking about their horse/ponies? If you see 'normal' (ie non-horsey) people's faces glazing over as you talk about your working trot or half pass - 'tis the place for you!
My chestnut mare is possible the grumpiest animal on the planet - but now and again I get the smallest cuddle or winny and it's all work it.
