Now that iVillage Connect has hit the public domain it's time I come clean. Up until the other day I had never knitted anything before. Please don't disqualify me from the group - I love making things, but my interest just hadn't quite extended to granny's favourite pastime.
But that all changed when my mum bought me a 'knit your own scarf' set for Christmas. The wool was a fabulous fluffy bright pink type, but very thin, and it seemed to take me one evening to knit just an inch of scarf.
So, looking for a quick fix (in the direction of our flat drinks area) a flash of inspiration came over me. MINI KNITS!!
And so my first knitted product was conceived...
I must admit I didn't make the hat, but doesn't it compliment the scarf just divinely?
And so its time you showed me your knits. If you have ever knitted anything mini and completely usless I want to see it. If you haven't (and why on earth not?), how about you get involved in the new craze?
Mini knitting has many advantages: it's cheap as it doesn't involve much wool, it's quick, and the results are simply adorable. So come on, hop on the mini knits wagon and show us your pics!
