Just finished reading this and loved it. Can't wait for "What About Me Too? the sequel, which I've just ordered off Amazon. It tells the story of family breakdown, and the trials and tribulations of being a teenager through a diary and emails.

Frankie is a 14 year old teenager. She tells the story through a personal diary she keeps. Her Mum Sue, sends regular emails to her sister in Australia and it is through these that Sue tells her side of the story. Although fictional its a brilliant book for any mum with teenage kids as it gives real insight into what they go through when growing up. Throughout most of the book I really felt for Frankie because she was so misunderstood by her mum. Sue, on the other hand got on my nerves with her constant moaning, although her husband had just walked out on her leaving her pregnant at 42!!

It had its funny moments and it had some very poignant moments too, and I did shed a tear or two towards the end. Its a book that certainly makes you think, and a recommended read to both mums of teenagers and teenagers themselves.

Samantha Sweeting is a high flying lawyer at a corporate law firm and sees all her hard work pay off when she is about to be made a Partner. Unfortunately when Samantha realises she's made a mistake which could cost her client millions she panics - big time. She gets on the first train out of London to god knows where and just sits in stunned disbelief that she could have made such a simple mistake with such dire consequences. She calls at a house for a glass of water and some painkillers for the monster headache she now has and winds up being mistaken for an applicant for the housekeepers job, which she takes. Samantha has spent her whole life up to now in persuit of a law career, as a result she can't cook, she can't iron, she doesn't know how a washing machine works and she's taken up a job as a housekeeper?

I thought that any member of a group could post a blog but I don't think that's the case.  So I'm trying to think how best to make the group work, that's if I ever end up with more than just moi as a member.

I think I'll post my book reviews on the blog and then create a forum for that Author so that anyone can discuss any books they've read by the same author and write their reviews on the forum.  I will tag any posts I make with the Authors name so that they're a bit easier to find, yeah?

If you want to share a book you've read and write a review for an author that hasn't been mentioned then just create a new forum heading thingy.  Anyway see how it all goes.

I've loved reading ever since I was a kid.  When my children were young I tended to read non fiction books and read childrens books to my kids, but they've grown up now and over the last two or three years I've got back into reading fiction again.  I read "The Edge of Reason" before I'd even heard of Bridget Jones and thought it was hilarious.  So I always make a point of choosing authors who are going to make me laugh or at least tend to be written for women.

That's just my taste though, not all chick lit is particularly funny, Emily Barr writes some brilliant books but they are always quite dark tales and not always with a happy ending, so share your favourites, and maybe books you found weren't quite so good .
