Talk about kicking a show when it's down.
As Big Brother limps to a conclusion and with ratings continuing to stagnate, ITV's head of entertainment Paul Jackson, has had some choice words to say about the reality show.
'I have watched it a bit, because you kind of have to.
'Though I just don't know how many more rather unpleasant foul-mouthed pole dancers I want to watch, getting their tits out and screaming at each other in the middle of the night,' said the man whose channel brought us Celebrity Love Island, Celebrity Fit Club and Celebrity Wrestling.
Jackson was speaking during an interview with website Digital Spy and was clearly revelling in the demise of Channel 4's flagship show.
It's a cruel world.
Meanwhile, in the house, Brian and Amanda have rekindled their romance and, just as a meeting of two genius scholars can lead to fascinating and enlightening exchanges, the coming together of two individuals clearly devoid of brains cells can be equally engaging.
To give a flavour of the conversation last night, Brian managed to bridge that divide that so many of us struggle with: the question of how a relationship can be specifically defined.
'You have sort of been my bird in this house,' he said.
Also - and this is an educated guess because I don't actually know - there are likely to be lots of evictions from here on in. This is mainly because the numbers have to be whittled down in time for the finale on Friday.
