I am 30 years old and live in North London with my partner, Louise, and six-month-old son Kieran. I work as a production editor for a website, based in central London, having previously been a sports journalist and sub-editor since leaving uni in 1998.

    Tired and emotional

Well, it's our last day in the current iVillage office and while I could pretend to be psychologically devastated by the prospect of not coming back here tomorrow, the truth is I'm actually coping quite well.

One thing I will miss though is popping into my usual cafe to pick up my first coffee of the day. I've been going there virtually every morning for a few months and just lately, the girl in there has started getting my coffee (white with half a sugar) ready as I walk through the door. And sometimes as she sees me approaching down the street. I'm so special!

The part of town we're moving to is very much dominated by the big-chain coffee establishments/multi-nationals where I doubt I will be afforded the same level of personal service.

So something of a tear in the eye...

I'm also feeling a bit sorry for myself today as last night saw my attempt to return to playing footy after a month or so out last a matter of 25 minutes. I play for the 'mighty' Cockfosters but haven't been involved much recently as I was struck down with a flu-like virus that baffled the medical profession. OK, I had quite a bad cold.

Anyway, I dropped down to the reserves for the purpose of getting the old legs going ready for the first-team on Saturday and promptly tore a muscle before the man and his dog had taken their seats. So no game for me on Saturday.

The silver lining is that I will be able to finally take Kieran swimming for the first time. I reckon he'll love it. Having a bath is up there with his favourite things in the world at the moment (along with sitting on my shoulders chewing my hair, laughing hysterically at inanimate objects and eating). So splashing furiously in an even bigger pool should really get him going.

That reminds me, I'll have to iron my speedos tonight...
