    Monday 28th July.

It was too nice a day to spend it indoors so I took Mum out to the beach. We stopped on the way to get some sandwiches, bottled water and something to read. Then we went down to the beach.

Mum insisted on walking instead of letting me get the wheelchair out so I gave her my arm to hold and she had her stick and we slowly walked to a bench by the bowling green where we sat and had some of our lunch.

Mum was getting a bit hot in the sunshine so I went off by myself looking for a cooler place to move to. I found one but it was quite a walk but Mum said she'd be ok and I felt that she would be so we slowly proceeded to another bench some distance away where we were looking out to see. The tide was miles out.

We could see the wind farm in the distance and the whole beach was deserted. We had a bit of a laugh with the men playing bowls earlier and now while sitting on this other bench a woman pushing an elderly lady in a wheelchair stopped to talk to us.

After a while Mum began to get hot again so I said whenever she wanted to go back to the car to just say. She immediately said she did. While I was out there looking out to sea I had some pangs of missing someone I won't see for a while and I thought 'so much for trying to do stuff to take my mind off things'. It's not working.

So I brought Mum back, stopping off at the disability radar toilet which was gorgeously cool. Could have stayed in there longer :)

Then we went to the car and I brought us back home.

Once back here I waited a bit and then gave Mum an ice cream which she loved.

When I was back this afternoon I felt totally or almost totally back to my usual self. No sad feelings or anything. Just a feeling that everything is ok and will be ok.

Will have to think of something to do tomorrow as I want to keep busy and preferrably doing something fun and interesting.

    Hugs

    Owly x
