On Friday, we are off to the French Alps for our annual skiing holiday. We're hiring a car (here) and driving down. We have 2 4-yr olds....are we mad? We are hiring a people carrier (our own car wouldn't make the journey), and we have dvd players to attach to the backs of our seats, but even so, it could be a disaster. Bearing in mind that they have trouble keeping still for more than about 2 mintues at a time, and also seem to need the loo at least every hour, I'm not sure if we are making a huge mistake!!
Oh well, we shall see! When we get there we have got a nanny to take care of the boys as and when we need, hopefully they will try a bit of skiiing this time. She will also babysit in the evenings so we can go and eat in the hotel restaurant without feeling the horrible McCann-induced guilt at leaving them in the room, as we always used to. Mind you, these days they'd probably trash the room if left in there.
They can't wait to build a snowman, so that will no doubt be the first thing we'll do.
Looking forward to a 'real' holiday! No cooking, no cleaning, lots of fresh air and exercise and lovely French food and wine (and not too much guilt cos of the exercise!).

We've had 2 quotes so far for moving our stuff to Spain, and 6 months storage. One company quoted 6 grand (!!!!!), and another only one grand. What a difference! 6 grand!!!!!!Phew!!!

Thought it was time to start blogging again, as our move to Spain is getting more imminent. We're flying out to Granada on March 20th, but we still have the house here until the end of May, so that will be the final final no-going-back time for us (and also when the furniture gets moved). We still haven't actually bought the new house, but the agent seems to think that will happen soon, yeah right, this is Spain, where manana means 'some time in the future, could be years....' . the majority of our furniture will have to go into storage, as the house we have now is too small.
The boys are starting at the village school on March 24th, for a term, but then will be moving schools to where the new house will be.
We're now busy making lists of what to take, what to sell/give away and what to store.
