Anyone who knows me knows I don't do skirts. I'm strictly jeans/trousers at all times, with the occasional frock for a special occasion. However I've always kind of liked those crinkly flowing Indian cotton hippy skirts and have been looking for one for ages (they are obviously completely unfashionable). Finally found one when we went for a walk by the river in Riofrio and they had a market on a Sunday morning. Bought 2 for 11 euros, a bright blue one and a fuschia pink one. They are very long and I look like an old hippy but they are SO comfortable in this heat!
Really pleased with my buy.

I don't think I have ever used first gear when driving quite so much as I do here, Because the streets are so steep, it's often the only way to get anywhere. And our drive is pretty steep and can only be done with the aircon switched off and in first gear..... it can't be good for the engine...

Well, a Spanish Tree Rat to be exact. Dp saw it by the pool and I saw it at the back of the house when I went to hang out the washing. It climbed up an almond tree when it saw me. It's not too horrible though, it looks more like a gerbil than a rat, quite cute really. But the most ANNOYING thing about it, is that it gets on our roof at night and makes scratching noises for HOURS!!! I assume it's the rat that's doing it, anyway, we haven't actually seen it up there. We now leave the outside light on all night, which puts it off. Dp threw water in it's general direction last night which seemed to scare it off.
On a much nicer note, there are a couple of ADORABLE kittens in the undergrowth to the front of the house. Can't get near them of course (feral cats) but they are sooooo sweet to look at. Dp has forbidden me from feeding them, as past experience has shown it's not a good idea....

is what the waiter said to us the other day. Nothing unusual except that this was in a pretty remote Spanish restaurant in the hills behind Granada. It sounded more like 'lobbelly-jobbelly' though.
