The title should be said thro gritted and chattering teeth.
For goodness sake! I can't believe it's global warming/freezing or whatever.
I feel so sorry for the families touched by the deaths of people caught in the recent floods. What a mess. A lesser known motto of mine "Live on a hill and drive a diesel!" The local river is very high but it keeps belting down stream only to cause havoc further down. My thopughts go to everyone affected anyway.
Not only is it wet but it's flippin' cold. My right hand is the coldest since it's the one poking out from my longsleeved cardy and working the mouse. Perhaps i should do some ironing. It's a sure-fire way of warming up.
I ordered 3 books from amazon and they arrived this morning ( as well as my Tesco shopping)The first is Dawkins' The God Delusion. There's been much hype about the book so i finally gave in. I also ordered WASTING POLICE TIME by (psuedonym) David Copperfield who also has a very interesting blogspot. There is a suggestion that any brit bobby known to have read it could be disciplined. It sounds like it's a tongue in cheek comment - but on the other hand!!!
OH and the third book, by another professional blogger, is Tom Reynolds' BLOOD, SWEAT & TEA: Real Life Adventures in an Inner-city Ambulance. I wish everyone could read some of what he has written. It might even make some people think twice before dialling those three well-known numbers. But for those who may not feel inclined to coff up the small numery to any book establishments, one can always find his stuff on the net. I'll have to let you search since i don't wanna be TOSsed from here ;D
I know we blog here but is there anyone out there that would do it more like these chaps have? especially with a view of opening Joe Public's eyes to the way things operate from an insider's POV?
... we really should be epecting it to rain shouldn't we?? lol

This is so i have an idea for titles in case i forget what other titles i have used since we can't use the same ones now ::rolls eyes:::
It's not like i have alot to say. It's been over two weeks since nature stung me on the arm. Poor little blighter. I felt worse for the bee than i did myself. Good job i don't suffer anaphalactically!
I adore bees, especially bumble bees. Look how cute and lovely they are? they don't sting maliciously and that's what made it so much harder. :(
I was in the works motor the other day when the bad storm hit the south-western part of the midlands. Wow! It wasn't just a crack of thunder. I'm sure whatever it was must've hit the ground (or something) with one hell of a thump! I sure as hell wouldn't have wanted to be under the blighter!
Two things that really appeal to me.
Lightning and lighthouses.
I love the architecture of the latter and feel energised and excited by the former - even if it can scare me. It would be amazing to capture a still on camera of a lightning strike. The raw power of nature should never be taken lightly (NO pun intended). I love watching programmes about volcanoes as well. They are, quite simply, awesome. Whilst they have a detructive power, mankind exists due to volcanoes so the old idea of praying to the Fire Gods may not be such a bad idea after all :0)

I know some peeps know already but i am struggling to access some boards esp CwD over on the main system. It makes no difference if i am shielded or unshielded.
Anyroad. Am heavily into Springwatch and spent FAR too much time on their msg boards this morning. Well, i couldn't get in to CwD so why not!! ;)
It's lovely catching up with the badgers and the owls and the choughs etc etc. I am not sure what's happened with the blackbird nest in my hankerchief. They laid ok but i happened upon whilst doing dastardly things to the leylandii. i haven't returned since as i didn't want to scare the parents away. I have a feeling i shall return and there'll be the remnants of nothing (if that makes sense lol). I scared one of the neighbours cats at one point as it was squaring up the hen Blackbird and she was in serious danger! My cat knows she's not fleet of foot tho 2 blue tits were giving her the evil eye from the safety of the rotary a week or so back!
At the moment, there's a collared dove giving it HooHoo. It's a sound from my childhood when i lived in the big smoke. just before i'd heard a blackbird alarming so i imagine a cat was on the prowl. the Housemartins are wheeling about overhead as well. I thought mine had gone quiet. I opened the window by the enst fully which must've worked as one's head appeared before s/he slipped from the nest and wheeled off. They've been a quiet bunch this year. now and again, the chirpy little sparrows remnd me of their existence.
Nature! whatever us humans throw at it it still comes back and slaps us in the face :)
My mate the House Martin. If you go to sites and listen to their noises they give you the call and the song. What they don't give you is the intimate chirrup sound which happens in the nest when they're asking each other to budge up a bit ;)
xx

It had to happen didn't it? lol
In short ( as well as blogs suddenly reverting to never FKG starting so losing everything you've bl**dy written!!¬¬!!!!!!!!).... we are british. We, therefore, should spell the british way.
We are NOT americans. We, therefore, should spell MANOEUVRE thus! after all, OMD do when they use their whole name!
And how about MEDIAEVAL? after all, when are we gonna start spelling aesop as Esop eh? for goodness sake. We have a language. Yes it grows and develops etc but these words have been there forever. And i am fed up of peoples laziness. Don't get me wrong i love testing and shortening certain things but away from the mobile phone, short cuts should be confined as much as possible.
There is also computer acronyms and abbreviations and that's fine but no more. Enough is enough. I use alot of slang. It's fun but if i(see! small i lol) want to muck around with a word then muck around properly. Don't use a word in all seriousness and then stuff up it's spelling. MDEVL... i can cope with as i can MNOVR ( even tho both are bad words to shorten).
English is a colourful language. What a shame that the english do not embrace it's beauty and nuture it. One does not have to sacrifice to the lazy Bushisms of the world to allow it to grow. We do not have to stay with Shakespeare or Chaucer one hundred per cent but let's not drop it's grace with the swift woosh of the keyboard maneurvre medieval Wrong wrong wrong!
"I bite my thumb..." at the slovenliness of english useage in the UK
xx
and no, i am not 100% correct in it's useage... i just try :)

My rhubarb is finally on the wane. I gave some away, as a thank you, and i have a few sticks left but some of it had lost it's oomph and crumbled 9ha ha) in my hand as i pulled it. I hope i get a second lot later in the year.
Well, i got to it as a strimmed the garden again tho it needs doing again. I had to do the hankerchief in two goes as the battery was giving out. I've cleared about 2/3rds of the cuttings from the otehr week- yes i am that slovenly lol. It's just an arse as i have to carry it thro the house to take it to the recycling bins. If it doesn't rain overnight or first thing in the morning i may even rake the strimmings tomorrow. Woo.... hooo! ;) I may even strim again. OMG! look out alan titchmarsh!
The blue tits of the area were giving my cat the evil eye from the safety of the rotary line as she passed under it. Small and elderly cat - 13 going on 14 - is not gonna c ause them too much grief. The blackbirds haven't been as noisy and alarm-filled over the last few days. I hope the chicks are ok. I don't know if they've hatched. I need to get my binoculars out and see if i can spot anything from upstairs.
My chattering housemartins are still whirling and wheeling about. I thought i saw swifts intermingled with them the other day but i wouldn't swear to it. Another thing i might have seen or it might be my imagination was... welll - I was in Herefordshire on a works errand when i saw a white bird with black wing tips circling over a field. I assumed it was an out of the way seabird (tho Hereford itself does have gulls) but i was watching SPRINGWATCH the other day when they showed a fairly rare bird up in Scotland on Islay. I think i saw a male Hen Harrier. I am quite excited though the more i think about it the more i think to myself 'dont be a fool. It was a black-headed gull'.
I want it to be a hen harrier!!!! ;)
Is anyone else watching Springwatch ?
xx
