Welcome to me

Hello,

I'm Home & Food editor at iVillage, but this little space of white gives me free reign to talk about whatever I fancy. Wohoo!

So.

Er.

In two weeks I set of to the foreign climes of Sri Lanka for three weeks of exotic bliss. I'm vaccinated up, clad with an abundance of malaria tablets, got my new sunnies, and all my old traveller's basics shall be dusted off and once again packed away in my very old backpack with chewing gum stains from as far flung places as Cuba, India and Thailand (nowt like a bit of country dropping).

It's a strange time to go as iVillage is undergoing so many exciting things at the moment (not least being this!), so I'm a bit nervous that I might come back and a) not be able to find our new office b) forget how to programme stuff with our new spangly system and c) have missed the latest huge advancement in online activity.

Time will tell.

In the meantime I'm sitting tight, working like a dawg and catching a few films. Thinking about setting up some kind of film group as, well, I'm a geek and love pretentious converstation about films and theatre. Do you ever see stuff that's truly terrible, yet everyone, EVERYONE thinks it's just the best?

Latest flop has to be Wild Hogs, out next month, about middle aged surburban men who set of on a Roadtrip with a few mishaps along the way. Hold onto your handlebars guys it's a hilarious rip-roaring adventure with some truly awful slapstick comedy.

Maybe there's some scope here for a moaner's corner. Or is that too negative? Thoughts appreciated.

Happy networking everyone!

Peggy
