I am a stay at home mum, having previously been a primary school teacher. I have 3 gorgeous curly topped kids - Elijah, Rosie and Noah and life is pretty good fun right now!

4th blog in the space of a few hours!

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007, 1:53 pm

You must remember to go back 4 blogs to get the whole story!

I have tried to think rationally about this and focus on the positives. Which are:

1) The MIL will be pleased!

2) He will be cool for the hot summer.

3) He likes it

4) I have been pondering what it would look like short, now I know,we can focus on growing it and just keeping it trimmed, I will use this blog to remind myself never to get it cut short again, even if mil thinks he looks like a girl!

5) It should be a decent length by Christmas - that really isn't that long away!

There I feel a whole lot better! I did also post the worst photo of him, there are a few others and he does look quite cute...

Ok following on from my last 2 posts I have taken some photos so you can see what all this fuss is about.

This photo was taken yesterday when dh was getting some photos to renew his passport - it isn't the best but it is the most recent....

You can see the curls etc - it is pretty accurate as to what he looked like when we entered the hsirdressers....

Now the one when we left, if I can even bear to post it!

Oh I hate it, hate it, hate it!!!!

You lot must all think I am bonkers and I am pmtish which doesn't help, but I am so upset!

Furious

So dh has just come home. He hasn't seen Elijah yet - 'What's wrong?' he says when he notices my gutted face. 'Elijah's hair' I say.

He goes in and looks at it. 'Why did you get it cut that short?' he moans. 'If I had taken him he wouldn't be looking like that, you were in control'

It was him that told me to go and get his hair cut, not trimmed but cut by the end of this week. Now he is blaming me for it looking so crap. We had his hair trimmed a few months ago, but that wasn't good enough. He wanted it short. Now it is short and looks awful as I told him it would, he blames me!

I feel so cross and equally blame myself. I was there (all be it trying to stop Noah from running out the shop and onto the busy road!) I should have said trimmed, I should have said stop when it was looking cool. I should have waited a few more weeks and got my friend to do it - we could have done it in stages,

I know this probably all seems petty - I mean it's only hair, (and not even mine, but my nearly 7 yr old sons!) but it did take a whole year to grow and it was so lovely and curly. Unusual.

Seriously I can't stop the tears welling up. How pathetic!

Gutted!

Elijah has had his hair cut. I hate it. All his lovely curls gone. Just like that. A whole years worth of curly hair growing and now he looks like all the boys, except that I don't even think it suits him as he has a weird shaped head! He loves it. I want to cry.

I didn't want it cut but I succumbed to pressure. From his Dad, from my in laws but the final pressure came from him. He suddenly was fed up of long hair and has been pestering me every day for about 2 weeks to have it cut.

The hairdresser asked me if I wanted it trimmed - I hesitated and then Elijah said 'No, I want it really short!'

The back was cut first and it did look really smart, Infact I nearly yelled stop as it looked really cool and trendy, short and neat at the back and long at the top, but I thought, no, I will leave it in the hands of the professionals, but thry just kept on snipping and now the front is way too short for my liking. I can't even look at it!

Gutted.

weekend stuff...

Sunday, June 10th, 2007, 4:16 am

Had a nice relaxing saturday - stayed at home mainly with a small bike ride with kids (well I was pushing Noah on his bike!) in the afternoon. Had a BBQ as weather was so nice in evening with 5 of our friends coming - it was great fun, but of course meant more wine and another late night. Not sure if I can keep this up!

Am now trying to decide whether to go back to bed or be very good and get myself and kiddies dressed and go to church! The children love going to Sunday school and won't be able to go next week so should make an extra effort to go this week, but I am feeling soooo tired! Dh will be up at about 10am and will say go back to bed, but danger is that then I will be wide awake later on and really suffer tomorrow! Oh the decisions!

I currently have Noah running around with no nappy on and a potty in the room, but have no high hopes - the other 2 were both nearly 3 before toilet training sunk in (though to be fair it just happened over night and they were completely trained day and night in a day! But Noah is driving me mad with his willy obsession! He keeps pulling it out and weeing everywhere anyway so I thought I would experiment with a potty - but he is only 21 mths! So I have no hope really! I think when I can be bothered to go and get his clothes on, a nappy will go with it!

Oh some exciting news! One of our guests at our Thursday formal have said we can have their house in France for 2 weeks at beginning of AUgust! We thought we were not going to afford a holiday, but it is all looking possible. Only downside is it is in Perpignon and when we looked at flights for the lotof us and hire car it was coming to about £900!!!!! But we have since decide to go for it and geta ferry (£69!) and drive - all in one day!!!! Well actually we are hoping to go to Geneva first where my sister lives and then on to Perpignon, Means about 10 hours drive in one day and ferry crossing but nothing is impossible! We did do about 8 hours in one day last year and kids were fine - the DVD player helped and we stopped every now and then!Plus they have their gameboys and leapsters and as we are up at the crack of dawn they slept for half the time anyway!!!! We will saty at my Mums the night before and then we are only a short drive from Dover so it will be a very early ferry and then go for it! Have to get our car fixed first!

Anyway back to today - Our car is going to be in the garage for longer than we think, so we have to go pick up a courtesy car this afternoon so I can do school/ nursery run in morning. Oh and our Venture photo is ready for collection too. BUt I am dreading it! Just in case it looks silly where we planned to put it and am now thinking should I have gone for the other one, but too late!

Definately a quiet night in too. Need to prepare myself for next weeks events - a very busy week day and night!

Gx
