it is my birthday on MOnday and the celebrations begin today! Not that I really know what I am celebrating - I mean another year older - approaching mid 30's - not exactly great!
However, my FIL is over today - he's a good bloke and the kids will be so pleased to see him. I plan to not tell them - just turn up at the airport to pick him up! Dh bought a pool table last week (cost about £1000 - this from the man who is constantly moaning about money! I was outraged - but apparently he has finished paying off the furniture from when we moved and has just put this on credit card!) Anyway, that will be FIl and dh happy for the night, so I am heading into the BIG TOWN!!!!! I am meeting my 2 bestest buddies, one of whom has come back from a camping weekend especially for me - awwwww! We will have a few drinks, a nice meal, and then we are having a sleep over at her house - her kids and dh are still camping so no early mornings!!! My Dh is not happy at all about it, but tough!!!! He knows that if he objects he will (quite rightly!) look bad to my friends and their dh's! But he keeps making remarks - I had my hair done yesterday (it was long overdue - you should have seen my roots!) and he thinks I have only had it done for tonight! In a way I have, but if I din't have it done uesterday I would have had to have had it done next week,so I amy as well have it done before tonight and MOnday night (when I will be going out with dh and FIL!)
Sunday I have to get up reasonably early as kids are in a ballet show and it is a dress rehearsal so I need to be back for an early lunch and get them out. Then My Mum is coming up Sunday evening and staying over for Monday day.
As I said I am out MOnday night too.
Next week is full of school visits for Rosie and all sorts of other stuff. Just hope weather picks up....
Right I need to go and clean!
Gx

You must remember to go back 4 blogs to get the whole story!
I have tried to think rationally about this and focus on the positives. Which are:
1) The MIL will be pleased!
2) He will be cool for the hot summer.
3) He likes it
4) I have been pondering what it would look like short, now I know,we can focus on growing it and just keeping it trimmed, I will use this blog to remind myself never to get it cut short again, even if mil thinks he looks like a girl!
5) It should be a decent length by Christmas - that really isn't that long away!
There I feel a whole lot better! I did also post the worst photo of him, there are a few others and he does look quite cute...

Ok following on from my last 2 posts I have taken some photos so you can see what all this fuss is about.
This photo was taken yesterday when dh was getting some photos to renew his passport - it isn't the best but it is the most recent....
You can see the curls etc - it is pretty accurate as to what he looked like when we entered the hsirdressers....
Now the one when we left, if I can even bear to post it!
Oh I hate it, hate it, hate it!!!!
You lot must all think I am bonkers and I am pmtish which doesn't help, but I am so upset!

So dh has just come home. He hasn't seen Elijah yet - 'What's wrong?' he says when he notices my gutted face. 'Elijah's hair' I say.
He goes in and looks at it. 'Why did you get it cut that short?' he moans. 'If I had taken him he wouldn't be looking like that, you were in control'
It was him that told me to go and get his hair cut, not trimmed but cut by the end of this week. Now he is blaming me for it looking so crap. We had his hair trimmed a few months ago, but that wasn't good enough. He wanted it short. Now it is short and looks awful as I told him it would, he blames me!
I feel so cross and equally blame myself. I was there (all be it trying to stop Noah from running out the shop and onto the busy road!) I should have said trimmed, I should have said stop when it was looking cool. I should have waited a few more weeks and got my friend to do it - we could have done it in stages,
I know this probably all seems petty - I mean it's only hair, (and not even mine, but my nearly 7 yr old sons!) but it did take a whole year to grow and it was so lovely and curly. Unusual.
Seriously I can't stop the tears welling up. How pathetic!

Elijah has had his hair cut. I hate it. All his lovely curls gone. Just like that. A whole years worth of curly hair growing and now he looks like all the boys, except that I don't even think it suits him as he has a weird shaped head! He loves it. I want to cry.
I didn't want it cut but I succumbed to pressure. From his Dad, from my in laws but the final pressure came from him. He suddenly was fed up of long hair and has been pestering me every day for about 2 weeks to have it cut.
The hairdresser asked me if I wanted it trimmed - I hesitated and then Elijah said 'No, I want it really short!'
The back was cut first and it did look really smart, Infact I nearly yelled stop as it looked really cool and trendy, short and neat at the back and long at the top, but I thought, no, I will leave it in the hands of the professionals, but thry just kept on snipping and now the front is way too short for my liking. I can't even look at it!
Gutted.
