I used to be part of the iVillage crew until I upped sticks and moved 250 miles west down to Cornwall to live with my boyfriend and start a new job

First time for everything

Well this is something new to me, although I have always been aware of the iVillage community i have always been a reader not a writer, now with iVillage connect i can't hide if i want to be a part of it all!

I figured it's a way to keep in touch with old friends and with the good old internet it doesn't matter that you are miles away from friends and family... so in theory it sounds great, it's whether or not i can think of anything interesting to write!

A bit about what's currently happening with me, well i left iVillage over 2 years ago now (still can't believe it was that long ago) then packed up and moved down to the house my boyfriend and i bought in Cornwall (he's Cornish and it's been my second home for as long as i remember - so it wasn't too scary!).  I work in Padstow which is a fantastic little harbour village and my commute to work is either 15 miles by bike along the Camel trail or a 30 minute drive which takes me along the Atlantic Highway - i still smile everytime i see that sign!

Even on days like today, where there is no clear definition between the grey sky and the ground and your umbrella gets blown inside out, I look across and down the estuary out to sea and realise just how lucky i am to live and work down here.
