I'm very excited about our latest spend! After months of staring at pushchairs in the street and reading dizzying reviews of Bugaboo, Phil & Teds, Silver Cross etc... we about-faced at the last minute and went for a Mamas and Papas 03 Sport.
We were all set to buy a Phil & Teds, we just needed to decide between Apple and Red. That was until last night, when I came into the bedroom to find DH engrossed in the Mamas and Papas website...
Next day (today) he's up with the birds and heading into town (considering he works nights this is some achievement) to the M&P flagship store. While I work up the road, he's chatting to all the girls in there and test-driving pushchairs, prams and car seats.
Long story short, this lunchtime I went up to join him and we bought the 03 Sport. It's getting delivered in the next few days and I am so excited!
Everything we buy makes it all seem so much more sorted and definite - and sooner!
If anyone has this pushchair, I'd love to know how you find it? I haven't bought a cosy toes/footmuff for it yet so would love any suggestions.

I can't believe how preggers I am now! Well over half way, nearly two-thirds and suddenly starting to panic about the lack of cot and pram and all the other accroutrements!
We've now got a drawer full of clothes and we've narrowed down which pram we want (big discussions!) and DH has started to stare at other people's prams in the street...
We've moving at the beginning of Feb, to a house just about big enough to contain the growing famille, so we're holding out on the big stuff until then but both itching to get a crib, bedding and changing table.
The kicks are out of this world. He - we know it's a he - woke his daddy up this morning. I was cuddled up to DH and had my tummy by his bottom when little man started his regular penalty shootout, cue DH waking up with a baby foot kicking his bum!
I'm absolutely loving being pregnant now. After a nasty bout of three-week flu, I'm now full of energy, no longer sick, enjoying having a proper (massive) bump and not just looking chunky and DH is absolutely in his element.
Bring on April!

Hi everyone,

I'm back at the coalface today after a whirlwind of activity!
Bar none, Monday, 22 October was the best day of my life. My (new) husband was a vision in grey and pink (my fashion fascism at play) and the kids looked absolutely gorgeous, despite DS ripping the back of his suit like the Incredible hulk. Even I scrubbed up okay. Ish.
I was actually surprisingly calm in the run up, it was only when everyone getting ready was still undresssed, unfed and unmade up at 2pm (the wedding was at 3.30 and they had to be there at 3.30) that I threw a wobbly.
But we made it in the nick of time and it was breathtaking. I'm actually getting quite choked up remembering it now so I'm going to stop and upload some pics!

Only 25 days to go until we tie the knot!
It seemed ages away, but now it seems to be approaching like a juggernaut and I just hope I can fit in all the last minute bits and pieces.
Tomorrow we go to the local Town Hall to give notice and this has been worrying me for weeks. When I called I was told that there was just one appointment (27th September, 2.30pm) before it was too late to give notice in time for our wedding date! So obviously I'm terrified that we'll be late and miss our slot or will forget a vital piece of ID or some other terrible tragedy will befell us! If we some how cock it all up tomorrow then that's it, we're not getting married on 22nd October!
I have my two pieces of ID (actually, I have eight just in case!) and DF has got his two pieces (only two, he's less hysterical than me) and I've charged him with getting accurate directions to the Town Hall (I cannot cope with this additional responsibility!)
So once we have done this (and assuming no-one contests it?!?!) it's all systems go.
Now just need to sort out my hair, buy some undies to go under my dress, try some shoes on, sort out my complexion and work out who to trust with my make-up!
Roll on 26 days time so we can relax!

I'm getting married! Hurrah!
After several years living together, raising kids and a cat, and a lot longer as friends, me and my other half have decided to take the plunge!
And in true us fashion, we're not just engaged, we're not just planning a wedding, but we're planning a wedding for 22 October. This year!
It's okay, I'm feeling pretty calm. Gulp.
We've got the list down to 30 people (including us and the kids - not the cat though, to my OH's great distress) and we've been very strict. Only the family we like, only the closest friends and all but four people we've known over 10 years.
We've decided to get married down in the area I got married, in a gorgeous little register office by the sea (you'd never jnow it's a register office, it's so gorgeous) and then we're hotfooting it over the border to Devon for the reception. (Choosing the meal options was definitely my fave part!)
Feeling pretty proud of ourselves. In the last two weeks, we've booked the venue, filled in all the forms, compiled the CD for the ceremony, told my lovely mum what type of cake I'd like her to make (she's very good at all that stuff), made and sent the invites and made the favours.
Now just need to sort the dresses (half sorted), the flowers (this weekend) and the kids' clothes.
Oh, and I've been practising my married signature... a lot!
Holly xx
p.s. needless to say my kids' favourite new game is pretending to get married... mainly my DD saying to DS, "I want to get married, you should ask me" and him saying "oh, okay...". I must point out they're not replicating what happened with us!
