Ant and Dec say sorry...again
They try their best to be everyone's best buddies, bouncing around, being cute and cuddly, all dimples and smirks, but they keep being made to look like Tweedle Tit and Tweedle Twat by ITV.
It wasn't long ago that Saturday Night Takeaway was implicated in the phone vote scandal and now it has been revealed that the British Comedy Award the duo won in 2005 should have gone to Catherine Tate.
Oops.
A report by media watchdog Offcom described how: 'Robbie Williams was invited to present an award. It was understood that he would be happy [to do so] if the recipients were Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
'In order to ensure his attendance, this assurance was given.'
You do the maths.
Ant and Dec have since released an apologetic statement saying how 'appalled' they are by the news, blah blah blah.
For their part, ITV have been fined a whopping £5.68m over its use of premium rate phone lines - coincidentally the equivalent of Ant (or Dec's) annual salary.
But the real tragedy about this tale is that Catherine Tate missed out on the glory of picking up a British Comedy Award and, as we all know, she's not funny anymore so her chance has gone.
