Madonna reckons she wouldn't make it on talent show American Idol because of her distinctive singing voice.
She said: 'I went to a lot of auditions for musical theatre and conventional mainstream things and I always got cut immediately. So I'm pretty sure the same thing would happen to me.'
I'm almost certain she wouldn't be over the moon about Simon Cowell taking 80 per cent of her earnings either...

I don't know about you but the whole 'secret pregnancy/birth/marriage' thing is wearing a bit thin with me.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie went all secretive when Ang fell pregnant, prompting a week of nauseating 'is she or isn't she?' speculation.
Clearly living in the belief that the whole world is totally obsessed with them, they have decided to keep us guessing again, in the wake of rumours they got married at the weekend.
Boring.
Where, you may ask, are these stories are coming from?
Brangelina's PR people maybe?
Surely not!
So, are they married or aren't they married?
I couldn't give a toss.

It's a sad fact that the BBC, once a bastion of new ideas and original concepts, now merely produces poor copies of shows that do well on commercial channels.
Aside from being lazy and rubbish, programmes such as Any Dream Will Do and I'd Do Anything are, as argued by Kevin Spacey, nothing more than extended advertising campaigns for certain West End musicals.
In an interview with the Beeb, Spacey, who is artistic director at The Old Vic, said: 'I felt that was essentially a 13-week promotion for a musical - where's our 13-week programme?
'I have spoken to your chairman but he has yet to get back to me.'
There's a surprise.
Spacey also suggested ideas that are 'not sexy' are rejected by the BBC in favour of X Factor type shows.
The Beeb, keen to portray themselves as unbiased, have featured Spacey's comments on their website while the gormless Breakfast Show clowns sniggered and raised their eyebrows about it this morning (no doubt before offering the chance to 'text us what you think').
And while privately they're likely to be slightly down in the mouth about Spacey's painfully truthful comments, my guess is the BBC will continue to churn out the same old tripe, giving the anti-licence fee lobby yet more ammunition.

It happened to John Lennon, Bob Dylan - even Rick Astley.
No matter how much of a lyrical genius a person may be, nobody is immune from an attack of writer's block.
Now, Gwen Stefani has admitted she is struggling to create magic after getting back together with her band, No Doubt.
She said: 'It's great to be back together, but songwriting's a bit slow on my part - it may have something to do with the baby.'
Hmm, let's have a quick reminder of some of her best efforts of recent times:
'High on the hills with the lonely goat herd, lay-od-lay-od-lay-he-hoo
Yodell back with the girl and goat herd, lay-od-lay-od-low...
Wind it up
Wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
Yodellay, yodallay, yodal-low...'
Thank god she had a baby.

You know what they say about advertising: it's a funny old game.
We see celebs endorsing various products in exchange for wads of cash and, deep down, we're all thinking 'do they really eat/drink/use that?'
Which brings me onto the latest foray into 'making lots of money for not doing much at all' by Girls Aloud.
The quintet, seemingly keen to cash in before their slide into obscurity gathers pace, have filmed a TV advert for KitKat bars.
So today's survey is: do Girls Aloud eat KitKat bars (licking the chocolate off and leaving the rest doesn't count)?
Answers on a postcard...
