Channel 4 sorry for Stoke statement
Channel 4 has apologised to the mayor and residents of Stoke-on-Trent after it was claimed on one of their programmes that 'nearly one in five people there are homeless'.
The wildly innacurate statement was blurted out during the live edition of Location, Location, Location last week.
Channel 4 has now published an apology on its website, admitting it was a mistake.
What they did not apologise for, however, was subjecting us to two hours of Phil and Kirsty dying a long and painful death as they attempted to do the whole show live.
I'm a fan of the toffee-nosed twosome but whoever decided it would be good to give them a live, albeit scripted, two-hour slot was horribly misguided.
It started badly with a stuttering intro, followed by an attempt at a joke from Phil that prompted a million tumble weeds to drift by up and down the country.
And it got worse.
So, sorry Stoke-on-Trent.
Sorry everyone.
