Simply Red to hang around a bit longer
The quite devastating news breaking this morning is that Simply Red are splitting up...
...in two years' time.
Lead singer Mick Hucknall, who gave hope to millions of ugly blokes by inexplicably dating a string of beautiful women, said that 25 years was 'long enough'.
The 47-year-old added: 'I've enjoyed it so much that I feel the time has come to put a book-end to the story.'
Great use of symbolism there.
But before Mick and his middle-of-the-road-music-playing buddies finally wave goodbye, we will have two years of Greatest Hits albums and Farewell gigs to get through.
They could be the longest two years of your life.
