Paris pilloried by laughing Letterman
I'm not one to defend Paris Hilton usually, and, to be honest, I'm not going to today.
But I have to admit I felt a tiny pang of sympathy for her after reading about her 'going over' by David Letterman on The Late Show last week.
Clearly expecting to go on and talk about the launch of her new fragrance and other such mind-numbingly boring twaddle, Paris was instead bombarded with questions about her time in prison.
Like a cat toying with a badly injured mouse, Letterman reportedly had Paris turning all kinds of strange colours as he well and truly put the boot in.
Getting straight to the point, he said: 'How did you find your time in jail?'
He went on to probe her on the issue of prison food before mocking her about how she came to be in prison.
He asked: 'What is it you did? Do you know what you did?'
When Paris didn't venture a reply, he laughed gleefully and shook his head.
In a vain attempt to fight back, she protested: 'I've moved on with my life so I don't really want to talk about it anymore.'
Letterman eventually apologised but poor old Paris limped through the remainder of the interview like a marathon runner with a sprained ankle as the damage had been well and truly done.
My 'sources' understand there is a video of said interview on a popular video sharing website (the name of which escpaes me at the moment), if you're desperate to have a look for yourself.
