Posh set for Ugly role

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007, 5:57 am

Victoria Beckham is reportedly set to appear in an episode of Ugly Betty.

The producer of the hit US series plans to include her in a wedding scene with David also making a cameo appearance 'watching from the sidelines'.

A bit like David's football career then really....

Posh's appearance on the show is said to be the first in a line of TV roles. She is also due for a two-week trial on US programme The View.

It's almost as if 'brand Beckham' went to LA to try and break into films and TV and not, as Becks keeps telling us, for the sake of his football career.

By the way, LA Galaxy are still at the bottom of the league and Becks still hasn't played a competitive match for them.

Cheryl keen to rescue Britney

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007, 5:39 am

Anyone concerned that Britney Spears seems to be spiralling out of control can breathe a sigh of relief.

Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole has offered to help the troubled pop star and has come up with a simple yet brilliant plan to get her back on track.

And the genius of it is, Britney doesn't actually have to do anything - just sit back and wait for it to happen...

Cole told Star magazine: 'She just needs to grow her hair back - and she is on the way.'

And there you have it.

No counselling, no rehab required. Simply allow nature to take its course.

Cheryl added: 'I actually want to fly out there and help her. I swear in four weeks, I would have her back to normal.'

Cheryl is said to be considering an offer from the UN to become a special envoy who solves major crises around the world, amid hopes her revolutionary 'just let your hair grow' method will go some way to resolving conflicts in the middle east and parts of Africa.

Pete issues 'come and get me' plea

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007, 5:30 am

Pete Doherty has issued a desperate plea to Kate Moss asking her to take him back.

The pair split a few weeks ago amid rumours Pete had done the dirty with a model on a night out.

The Mirror quotes Doherty describing Moss as a 'nasty old rag' who 'kicked me in the head'.

Mmmm. Not the most flattering opening gambit.

He continues: 'Take me back. Kate if you love me then realise I don't want any other girl. I'm here to tell her that I love her.'

He added: 'We fell out for the same old reason. She accused me of f****** this girl who lives around the corner.'

Oh yeah, that old chestnut.

And, according to The Metro, 'a pal' reckons Kate is struggling to resist the lure of the unwashed one.

The pal said: 'She is doing everything she can not to crack and weaken, though there are dark moments when she breaks down and really misses Pete.'

Wow. Things must have to get pretty dark when you start pining for a stinky old tramp who spunged off you for a couple of years...

Britney's comeback hits the buffers

Monday, July 30th, 2007, 6:05 am

Britney's attempt at a comeback (to singing and dancing) have suffered a setback after she was apparently unable to pull off the moves required for her new video shoot.

The Mirror reports that the filming was stopped as Britney struggled to capture the magic that led her to stardom all those years ago.

An 'onlooker' is quoted as saying: 'Britney looked wasted'.

But it's not all bad news if you ask me.

After all, Ozzy Osbourne has made a career out of 'looking wasted' while the 'wasted' look hasn't done the likes of Pete Doherty any (well, not much) harm.

Paris loses inheritance

Monday, July 30th, 2007, 5:51 am

It's unlikely to leave her short of a few bucks (an American word for money) but Paris Hilton is reportedly set to miss out on the £29 million inheritance she was due in her grandfather's will.

Conrad Hilton has apparently cut the 26-year-old out of his will and is instead preparing to give a large chunk of his fortune to charity.

Jerry Oppenheimer, the author of House of Hilton, said: 'He was, and is, extremely embarrassed by how the Hilton name has been sullied by Paris.

'He now doesn't want to leave unearned wealth to his family.'

But before you start punching the air in delight, it is predicted that Paris' personal fortune - an estimated £4.1 million - will quadruple this year as she embarks on a singing career, to add to her TV and merchandising 'projects'.
