YAY! I got married!!
Friday
Went to Lucker in morning, Village Hall was full of people decorating it but I was not allowed to see so spent all afternoon alone with kids and feeling very anxious.
All my dress and accessories and my sisters were being kept at a friend's caravan so that there wouldn't be a crowd of us in one caravan getting ready.
At night my mam went back to hall after dinner so I was left alone again, my sister came but she rushed off to pick up my mam from hall and go to the hotel to deliver wedding cake, favours and seating plan.
When my mam came back we sat back relaxed and had a drink or two, then we realised we still had kids favours to do and we were supposed to be doing my mams nails as she had chipped her manicure and she wanted me to correct it so we did the favours and finished off the jelly babies that were left over and left her manicure till the next day.
We went to bed at 11pm, kids were already fast asleep. I got to sleep fine but Asia woke at around 1pm and then kept popping up every 5 minutes to say ‘Hiya!!' this went on for two hours!!!! She finally went back off to sleep though and I slept till morning.
Saturday
Asia woke early still but my mam came and got her at 7:20 meaning I had a full 10 minute lie in before alarm went off, still enjoyed it though. Got up and ready, my sister had arranged to pick us up at 8:30 and true to form she turned up at 8:45!! I had sent Ian a text when I got up saying to remember my perfume (I had left it day before) to make sure he had all his stuff and don't forget the bloody rings!!! So off me, Lisa and mam went to hairdressers in Alnwick, halfway there I realised I had forgotten veil, tiara and all the hairclips I'd had from trial run. Not enough time to go back though.
We all got our hair done, the 3 of us were all done really quick so nipped to Boots and then went for a coffee, we must of looked very glamorous!!
When we got back we got all our nail stuff out as I had glued false nails on Thursday night and had already lost a couple so needed to redo them, Lisa had a set to put on and my mam wanted her manicure fixed, then my mam decided she wanted to make us all something to eat so nails had to wait. We were supposed to be going to friends' caravan at 12 to do make up and get dressed so I was getting slightly nervous about the time. Then flowers arrived, they were beautiful, buttonholes and corsages were taken to the hotel for Ian and his family.
Finally got all our nails done but Sylvia weren't ready for us and this was 12:20, mam, Lisa, Oren and Asia were leaving at 1:35!!! So I was starting to stress a bit. At 12:30 we picked our stuff up and went over, as soon as I went to put my foundation on I realised how much I was shaking, I did feel nervous but not enough to shake!!
Me and my sister went into panic mode with time, we then heard a load of cheering coming from my parents' caravan, and all our friends off the site were cheering them when they and my kids came out. Lisa disappeared out (to loads of cheering as they were now waiting for us) I had Sylvia in as didn't have a clue how to put my tiara on, when my dad came in so Sylvia left us alone. I was finally ready when we stepped outside and my god it was like the paparazzi!! They all had cameras and there was a video camera as well, I plastered my smile on posed a bit, my dad muttered ‘we're going to be late' so I told him ‘we have to be it's fashionable!' We got in the car and as I was pulling my dress right one of my nails came off so Davey, the driver found it for me and I carried it with my flowers!
We got there four minutes late my uncle was standing ready to take photos, best mam and MIL were there and MIL took my nail for me, my sister Asia and my mam were there but no Oren, my BIL was bringing him and they were late. Just as they pulled up the superintendent registrar pulled me over (indoors as it was just starting to drizzle) to go through my details. She then went off saying they were getting music ready. Not everyone was together yet but I started wandering towards room, not realising that when I got there all the doors were open so I quickly dived to the side while I waited, when Lisa go there she stood at front with Asia, poor Oren was looking very nervous. My sister asked when she should start walking and I said "I'll tell you when music kicks in' Not realising it already had! So in a panic I just said go now, Asia loved it but we had to encourage Oren and he held ring cushion somewhere around his knee area (good job we'd stitched on some fakes!!)
Ian had turned round and saw Asia come in all smiles but then turned away before looking at me and didn't look back, he told me later he didn't know whether he was supposed to or not. I stood by his side while everyone else sat down. We had chosen all the quickest options for ceremony so it lasted all of 15 minutes :D It wasn't till afterwards we'd realised video camera had been forgotten so only part was videoed was when we sat down to get our photo taken signing the register.
After reception drinks we went for meal it was a sit down hot/cold buffet and it was beautiful everyone seemed to enjoy it and everyone was very impressed with our chocolate cake which as standing in the corner. We didn't want speeches but my dad said a toast and then me and Ian gave out gifts. Oren had been pretty quiet and didn't eat his food apart from jelly babies in his favour box and a few bits of fruit and wedding cake, but he perked up with his cousins and 2nd cousins around him.
We did have one small problem with Ian's alcoholic uncle while the meal was going on, apparently he had been drinking all day and ended up falling asleep in the room next to wear we were eating, Ian his mam and other members of his family were upset with his behaviour but my family were to busy stuffing their faces to notice. He was put in MIL's car until she could take him home. Well everyone has to have an uncle knobhead at a wedding don't they!!
After meal and a few pictures we then got picked up and taken to village hall, we were there at 6:30 but it didn't start properly till 7:30, my parents and kids had gone back to caravan and Oren turned up looking very pale and was feeling ill, I go him to help me open cards and presents, we got him a drink and my 8 year old nephew went on a mission to dance till Oren felt better!! His colour starting coming back after half an hour and he was up and dancing by the time everyone else arrived.
I had wanted a beach party but nothing to tat looking, and it was brilliant, the bar was a beach hut, and the bar men were wearing bright shirts and shorts, they were the talk of the might, there was bunting on the rafters and the centre pieces were bucket and spades with balloons flying out of them. The place mats were blown up old fashioned post cards.
Everyone seemed to comment on what a brilliant night it was and my SIL said it was the wedding to end all weddings and said it was far better than our two brothers in laws lol. Best day ever, can i do it again next year?!
