At last the week is over & I feel I can start moving forward again.
The funeral on Tuesday went very well & there was a huge turnout of people to celebrate Buddha's life, The service was conducted by the God Squad who also did the honours at Phils funeral three years ago. It was good to have someone who understands the bike scene & way of life. Only one minor hiccup - the quiet music that was supposed to play in the middle of the service to give us time to reflect wasn't there, everyone reckoned it was Buddhas doing as he always liked to have the last laugh bless him!
It was a very long day though - we left home at 4.30am Tuesday & I finally got back indoors about 1.30am Wednesday! I was shattered to say the least but slept really well I'm pleased to say.
Had a lovely surprise Friday night though - Sal had asked Steve to make sure I went to the clubhouse & I just assuned he'd brought me something back from his holiday in Cyprus. WRONG!! It turned out that he & Mel got married while they were away - the only people that knew about were his mum & his mate Mehmet who had to sort some of the arrangements out for them. What a sneaky so n so! So we had an impromptu party with Sal all dressed in white & Mel in her pretty pink floaty wedding dress - she looked gorgeous & I hadn't got my camera with me either, typical!

After a lot of faffing around, Helen & I are going to the funeral on our own - ex-oh has decided he can't cope with it for various reasons but at least he'll look after Millie (Helen's dog) whilst we're away.
She's picking me up at 4am Tuesdy moarning then we're off to Bristol to pick up another friend & should get to Cwmbran around 9am. That will give us a few hours to rest up & catch up with everyone before the actual event.
On a brighter note Helen & I went out together Saturday night to the post Poker Run party down at Graveney. Had a great time but I had way to much to drink & felt yuck for most of yesterday LOL!
Going to have a quiet day today & hopefully an early night as it's going to be a long & stressful day tomorrow.

The last two days have been dreadful as if I was swimming through fog, not even the beautiful weather can lift my spirits. Can't settle to doing anything much & keep doing silly things like putting the butter in the cupborad instead of the fridge & setting a teatowel alight as I wasn't concentrating properly. I did make some chickn stock yesterday (hence the flaming teatowel!) * as I'm feeling marginally better today I'm turning it into chicken & veg soup which hopefully will be yummy.
Trying to get hold of ex-oh about going to the funeral but his phone's off. So I called his current wife (she's a good friend even though they've now split up) & she can't get hold of him either! So we're both going to keep trying then contact each other with any news & we've a plan B as well - if we can't sort it out with him we'll go off together in her car, which personally I'd prefer as it will get us there quicker than his old camper van.
Anyway that's the state of play at the moment - I'll just be glad when the next week is over.

Still feeling a bit low but have manged to pick myself up & get on with things - I think the nice weather is helping. The funeral is arranged for next Tueasday & hopefully I've got a lift with ex-oh as I've got to get to Wales about 200 miles from here!
As Buddha was part of the biking community it will be quite an event with people flying in from all over Europe. It will be lovely to see all my friends again but recently the only time we seem to meet up is at funerals (there was another one in Germany last week but I couldn't manage to get to that one)
Had a quiet day Monday just playing on pc & watching daytime tv - nice & mind-numbing! Yesterday I managed to do a bit of course work, had a potter in the garden, then popped down to Sal at his cafe as he's off to Cyprus today. Haven't slept well either night so feel a little weary now hence not much achieved today.
One high point though - I ordered some books from Amazon yesterday & they turned up this morning, what great service. These are some recommendations from the 'Pagan & Wiccan Beliefs' board http://messageboards.ivillage.co.uk/n/mb/listsf.asp?webtag=iv-ukntwicca&nav=start so I'm really looking forward to getting into those!

Sitting here in a complete daze. Feel totally numb. Have just heard that my dear friend Buddha died at 01.30 this morning from a massive heart attack. Paramedics were unable to revive him.
Sent a text to TJ is partner but what can you say in a situation like this? Just told her I was here if needed. Poor TJ, it's only just over 3 years since her husband died from cancer. why is life so unfair to her?
Steve is shattered by the news as well & taken himself off to the clubhouse, we won't be any good for each other at the moment.
Don't know what to do with myself, just want to curl up in a corner & hide.
