Well, I just can't help myself. I'm writing this while at work again (on my lunchbreak though, so that's ok, right??)
Both the kids are teething at the moment. I think Anamika's finding it hard, as it's her very back teeth that are coming through and she keeps asking me for Calpol and 'special cream' (teething gel). As a consequence there have been a lot of broken nights, temper tantrums and tears... so, to be honest, it's quite nice to get to work and let DH do the child-rearing for a bit!!
My sister-in-law is doing a charity run on Sunday and it's got me to thinking. I've been so lucky in my life - great husband, two wonderful kids, love my job, happy family etc - that I should do something to give something back. Only trouble is, working at the local paper, I see so many charities that need help that it is impossible to pick one. I'm drawn towards children's charities like the NSPCC and Save the Children... but they all do such good work. I think I'd like to find a local charity so I can see the results for myself.
I'm off to trawl the internet for inspiration (and maybe do some work as well!!)... I'll keep you informed!

Man, I have had the day from hell at work and I am now about ready to collapse! But have got Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire out of the library on CD being read by Stephen Fry, and that's enough to cheer me up for now. I could listen to that man read the phone book, honestly!
I was a bit of a late convert to Harry Potter (which is unusual for me, as I read pretty much anything) and it took a while for me to see what the fuss was about. Now I've even got DH hooked, and he doesn't read at all (unless you count the little 'sun spots' in The Sun!!) He listens to the CDs and he loves them too. I've read them all now, and am eagerly awaiting July 21... have pre-ordered my copy and everything. Although I don't think I'll be queuing outside Waterstones at mindnight (although I am tempted)... I have to draw the line somewhere.
What's also amusing is that Anamika (at the tender age of 2 and a half) knows all the Harry Potter characters' names and plays Quidditch on her broom from ELC! I can't wait till she's old enough to really appreciate the books. She's already started 'reading'. She can recognise her name, as well as 'mummy' 'daddy' 'fairy' 'dinner' "Li' 'Maisy' and 'cheese' (don't ask!!). My mum taught me to read at about this age.
I think I'd like to be the one to teach Anamika and Li to read rather than wait and let the teachers do it when they go to school. Just because I think it's the most amazing gift that you can give to someone, and I'd love to be able to do that for my kids.
Li's doing well as well. He's standing independently and has taken a few very wobbly steps. On the whole though, he seems to prefer crawling as he gets to where he wants to go a lot quicker! I'm so proud of both my babies (although I am quickly realising that neither of them are really babies any more. I better watch out, I'll start getting broody again soon!!)
Right, I'm off to bed.

Hi all
Well, this is the third time I've tried to write this blog as whenever I try to upload photos everything goes horribly wrong.
So... I haven't been around for a while as they have banned all chat sites from our computers at work (can't think why!!)
It was Li's first birthday today and we all had a lovely day at the park. Can't believe my little man is one already! Where has the time gone?
Have posted some pics on my album here, can't manage to get them on to the blog, because my computer is useless!!
Hope everyone is well, and hopefully I'll be back and blogging soon!

Must remember to write this when at home! Today (well, this whole week) we are very understaffed at work, so therefore very busy. There's six newspapers to get out before Friday, and only three subs! You do the maths! But this is my (10 minute) lunch break.
Li's chicken pox has all but gone, and Anamika is still steadfastly refusing to catch it - she keeps lifting up her top and shouting 'Look mummy, no spots!'. She's also taken to pointing at people's blemishes and saying, 'look, spots!'. Why did we ever teach her to talk...?
Right, better go. Just joined a group on here, so going to check that out with the remaining 5 mins of my break!

Very hard at work right now! We're right on deadline, so a lot of waiting around for pages to be finalised, front page being tweaked etc. I love this atmosphere, and I love my job.
On the home front, Li has chicken pox, but doesn't seem to be suffering - he's just very spotty. Anamika pulled a birdcage over on herself while in Homebase with my MIL (don't ask!), and has cut her lip - but she seems more pleased with herself than hurt.
Right, better go and do some work!
