I'm iVillage.co.uk's beauty editor. I wouldn't be surprised if the post office had to assign me my own personal postman to deliver all the lovely lotions and potions that I'm sent to try. And yet I still get excited every time a new lipgloss lands on my desk. It's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it.

Having a bad hair day?

Thursday, May 31st, 2007, 12:09 pm

I'm quite lucky with my tresses by from time to time a bad hair day strikes I and just don't know what to do with it. Thank goodness for iVillage's brand new Hair Remedy Finder. I'm hoping it'll help make bad hair days a thing of the past.

Yippee!!!

Hot stuff

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007, 9:30 am

I know the past few days have been miserable and wet and it doesn't feel like summer's on its way at all, but here are a few things to get you in the mood for the imminent sunshine...

* Summer make-up tips * Our pick of the best summer frocks on the high street * Hot hair removal products * Bikinis to suit your body shape * Fake tans tried and tested * Make-up for the beach

I'm off on holiday to Croatia for a couple of weeks. Wish me good weather!

Beauty from within

Thursday, May 10th, 2007, 6:23 am

I'm not spotty, but at certain times of the month my skin turns into an angry, itchy, blotchy zit fest. It's been the same ever since i was a teenager and I'm convinced it's hormonal. I got used to it but never liked it. A year ago I was sent a couple of boxes of Imedeen Time Perfection- skin tablets containing a unique Biomarine ComplexTM rich in proteins and polysaccharides similar to those  found naturally in the skin's supporting tissue. The supplements supposedly work below the surface of the skin where ordinary skin creams can't reach to improve the skin's overall quality, structure and appearance.

I guess I started taking the Imedeen Time Perfection largely because I thought it couldn't hurt, but not really believing they'd make a noticable difference - which they didn't seem to after a week or so. After a month or two however, my monthly spot circus was considerably calmer . And, I notice that if I stop taking them for any length of time, the spots start to re-emerge. Taking two fishy smelling pills once a day isn't much fun for me as I can't stand fishy things, but it seems to be worth it in the long run. They're not cheap, and maybe they're not for everyone but look out for 3 for 2 offers if you're keen.

 Visit www.imedeen.co.uk for more information.

Smells like green chewits

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007, 11:40 am

When I got to work this morning, there was a huge parcel of goodies on my desk. I'm like a kid when it comes to parcels and ripped it open full of anticipation. Inside was a bunch of products made by Tigi. Among them something called Creamy Dreamy Orange Body Lotion (£8.95). I love citrus scented produts because of their fresh, revitalising properties, so unscrewed the top and shoved it under my nose. What a shock - Tigi's Creamy Dreamy Orange Body Lotion smells nothing like real oranges, it smells like something completely different. Chewits - those chewy citrus sweets I used to eat as kid! Now I don't know about you, but I'd be pretty reluctant to go around smellng like a sticky sweet all day. Just imagine the flies you'd attract.

 Thanks but no thanks Tigi.

Be warned!
